Outreach

Breakthrough Twin Cities

Breakthrough Twin Cities supports under-resourced middle and high schoolers on their journey to college. CBITG members volunteered to talk about careers in science and graduate school during their Career Day.

STEAM Day

CBITG members hosted 100+ middle school aged girls interested in science, technology, engineering, and art.

Science and Engineering Fair

CBITG members (ADD NAMES) judged posters and manuscripts created by middle and high school students at the junior science and hummanities (JSHS) Minnesota state science fair.

ACS Day

CBITG members volunteered at ACS Day and built connections with the local science community.

Science Bowl Judging

CBITG members enjoy some refreshments at a local brewery after officiating a science bowl.

Future Community Outreach

Community outreach is important to the CBITG program, and graduate students enjoy building connections with the local community. Please email CBITG@umn.edu to learn more information about ways we can volunteer at your local school or organization.

Science demonstrations

Many CBITG members have experience presenting engaging science demonstrations to young children.

Mentoring high school students

CBITG member Caitlin has developed a program to mentor high school students at a local high school.

Science judges/officials

CBITG members make awesome science fair judges and quiz bowl officials. Let us know if we can help!
