Chemical Biology Initiative
The Chemical Biology Initiative (CBI) is designed to stimulate and encourage interdisciplinary biomedical/biotechnology research, technological development, and education at the cross roads of chemistry, physics, biology, and engineering at the University of Minnesota. Our central goal is to enable the development of a deeper understanding of biology that can be applied to the improvement of health.
Seminars and research talks provide a venue for enhancing dialog and research interactions across the interface of chemistry and biology in a biweekly seminar series. To be sure that you don't miss information, please request to be added to the UMN ChemBio Google Group: https://forms.gle/n2nkUVBCUY4P7mRa9
Schedule for Fall 2024 - Fridays, 12:15-1:15 pm in Smith Hall (room TBD)
The seminar series includes:
Leading investigators from outside of UMN tackling biomedical and biological questions by a variety of interdisciplinary research techniques
UMN faculty and trainees giving formal research presentations
Sessions to support the UMN Chemistry-Biology Interface Training Grant (CBITG, T32) including meetings to discuss Professional Development, Rigor and Reproducibility, and more
Chemical Biology interest Group (CBIG), which is an informal collective of groups from Medicinal chemistry, Chemistry, and Biochemistry, Molecular Biology & Biophysics, who meet to share current research
Financial Sponsorship is gratefully acknowledged from the Department of Medicinal Chemistry.
